I've got to say this. The UK web design scene is often just self serving, indulgent bullshit perptuated by friends of friends. Count me out.
This is not a healthy situation. In order to become better you don't want to be surrounded by people who tell you how great you are all the time. What you need is the exact opposite. People who are honest and critique your work. But more and more I see the UK web design scene is infested with people who tell each other how great they are, how their work "rocks" or is "awesome". And then they in turn do the same for their friends etc etc. It's like a big incestuous gang-bang where nobody is ever offended. I wouldn't mind so much if the work was indeed "awesome" but often time it's just mediocre at best, put on a pedestal by arse-licking groupies.
Let's have a bit more honesty and less sycophantic bullshit.
